Shadow a Leader – and create the next generation of leaders
It’s often said the best way to learn is by observing an expert. AUT’s Faculty of Business put that idea into action by launching Shadow a Leader, a programme that gives Auckland secondary school students and AUT’s Business, Economics and Law students the chance to shadow a business leader for a day.
We were privileged to have two outstanding students shadow Managing Partner Mark Lowndes for a day in early July – Indianna Ross from Baradene College and Tiffany Pellowes, a student in Finance and Law from AUT.
We thoroughly enjoyed having these two intelligent and determined young women among us for a day. We’re confident it was worth their while too. Indianna later told us the experience confirmed her decision to pursue a career in law, and Tiffany particularly valued the opportunity to sit it on a couple of client meetings (and thank you to those clients for generously granting them that opportunity).
We look forward to welcoming more students in future. And we commend AUT for creating Shadow a Leader – a great initiative for young people considering a career in law, and a real opportunity for firms like Lowndes to contribute to their growth and development.
