Staying ahead of industry trends at RITANZ conference

May 4 2016

Lowndes consultant, Mike Whale, joined other industry experts to present on new professional standards at this month’s 15th annual Corporate Insolvency and Restructuring Conference.

Presenting with PWC Partner, John Fisk, and Chapman Tripp Partner, Michael Harper, Whale examined the new RITANZ (Restructuring & Insolvency Association of New Zealand) Code of Professional Conduct, updating conference attendees on the latest changes and next steps to take before the Code comes into effect.

The conference, which is organised by RITANZ, is a key annual event for all lawyers in corporate insolvency and recovery. It was another opportunity for our team to share knowledge and stay ahead of trends, including changes to insolvency law, the future for New Zealand’s dairy industry and real estate market, and even the impacts of the Greek debt crisis.

As well as being described in this year’s Chambers and Partners Asia Pacific 2016 directory as “a doyen of the insolvency market”, Mike Whale co-edited the leading New Zealand textbook on insolvency law, Heath & Whale on Insolvency, with High Court Justice Heath.

The Lowndes team was also pleased to support RITANZ as a conference sponsor, and to host the conference networking evening.
