As business manager for Lowndes, Rachel’s key focus is on building long-lasting relationships on a foundation of integrity and openness. She understands that the best businesses attract the right clients, staff and suppliers, and brings a strong background in the service industry to the firm.
Rachel’s training in hospitality along with her experience developing her own e-commerce and engineering businesses has given her a breadth of experience in strong customer service as well as an understanding of the commercial imperatives of sound project management. In 2010 she transferred this commercially focused, project-driven approach to the legal industry, coinciding with an economic downturn that brought attention to industry efficiencies and the need for effective business development.
Rachel follows legal industry innovations closely and is on the LegalTechNZ committee. She sees the potential advantages of advances in technology that improve service delivery and secure information management for both law firms and clients if service expectations are exceeded.
Alongside her role at Lowndes, Rachel has been involved in developing youth through sport. She has coached both high school juniors and seniors, achieving Northern Region Coach of the Year, a silver medal at a national tournament, and Top School in New Zealand. She has also managed a New Zealand age group team, which won gold at Trans-Taman 2014 and silver at The World Age Group Championship in 2015.
