Warren brings more than 40 years’ experience to Lowndes, almost all of these as a partner. He joined Lowndes after running his own successful practice, Warren Butterworth Lawyers.
Warren’s experience covers the breadth of general commercial law with particular expertise in aircraft transactions, including cross-border tax issues, leasing and securitisation. He has also worked across business sales and purchases, asset protection including trusts, commercial real estate, and law relating to charities. He has practised as a litigator in a variety of cases in the District Court, High Court and Court of Appeal, and acted as both mediator and counsel in a number of mediation cases.
Warren is director of a number of private companies and a trustee of a Northland charitable trust operating medical facilities, a rest home and a retirement village. He also has a number of wider community interests, and has lectured on specialised topics at Auckland University and on general law at Auckland University of Technology and Unitec.
